Frequently asked questions

Here you will find answers to what students ask us most.

Using Remembly

How does Remembly work?

You start recording in the browser and Remembly turns the lecture into text live. After you stop the recording, usually within a minute, you get a summary, notes and flashcards, and the deadlines the lecturer mentioned land on your list.

Which languages does it work in?

Every course has a lecture language: Polish or English. For Polish, the English words that often come up in Polish lectures are recognised too.

How accurate is the transcription?

It depends on the sound quality and where you sit in the room, so we do not promise accuracy. You can always check the quote and the moment in the transcript.

Can I record from my phone?

Yes, Remembly works in your phone's browser and needs access to the microphone. Mobile browsers may pause the microphone once the screen locks, so it is safest to keep the screen on.

What if the internet drops during a recording?

The text you already see on the screen is not lost: the app saves it when the connection returns. Speech spoken while you were offline cannot be recovered, because audio is not stored. You can resume recording with one button.

Is there a mobile app?

Not yet. Remembly works in the browser on a computer and a phone, and mobile and desktop apps are planned.

Deadlines and calendar

Can I rely on the detected deadlines?

Treat them as a helper. Every deadline has a quote and a link to the place in the recording, and uncertain dates are marked for checking. Confirm important deadlines with the lecturer.

Will deadlines get into my calendar?

Yes. In the settings you get a private calendar address that you add to Google or Apple Calendar. Deadlines appear as all-day events with a reminder the day before at 18:00 and on the day at 8:00.

Plans and account

How much does it cost?

The Free plan gives you 3 hours of recording a month, no card needed. Paid plans, with a bigger limit and flashcards, are in preparation. Payments will only be made on the website.

How do I sign in?

No passwords. You enter your e-mail address and get a 6-digit code, valid for 5 minutes, or you sign in with your Google account.

Privacy and consents

Do you record audio?

No. The sound goes from your browser directly to the transcription service and does not pass through our servers or get stored anywhere. We save only the approved text.

Does the lecturer have to agree to being recorded?

The student is responsible for the lecturer's consent. Before the first recording you confirm that you have it. A lecturer can also ask us to delete a transcript that includes them.
